Attaching a temporary frame

This cross brace will hold the ribs in the correct position for gluing on the front (the G clamps are temporary). For whatever reason, Mr. Chandler puts his BACK on first, and not the top (front). Although I’ve tried to think it through, I can’t really see what difference it makes. Possibly the inside of the instrument, when viewed through the F holes, may reveal unsightly traces of glue at the join with the ribs. These would be easy to clean up if the back were to be glued first, but otherwise difficult, if not impossible. (Is it my imagination, or is that last phrase quite meaningless since it is perfectly ambiguous?) Anyway, this is how I’m going to proceed, and I can enjoy a leisurely repentance.
