Assemble the base by inserting the rods into the drilled holes. Secure with round-headed screws and washers provided.
If you intend to leave your base assembled for the foreseeable future, carefully smear a little bookbinders' PVA adhesive inside the plug holes before tapping in the mushroom plugs.
