These are "low-back" ladderbacks; the graduated widths of the back slats is typical of Ernest Gimson's version of Clissett chairs. Clients often choose low-back chairs to avoid the sight of a forest of pointy sticks obstructing the view from their windows. The table looks a little high - and I'm not sure it's an ideal visual match with the chairs.
